As you probably already know, Hudson’s Ice Cream was born out of our own in-house allergy situation. What many don’t know is that ice-cream can contain up to 14 ingredients that are generally known as common allergens. These include some of the biggest culprits such as milk and eggs, nuts and even Gluten and Lupin.
Allergies should not be confused with Lactose Intolerance. Lactose Intolerance is the body’s physical reaction to Lactose which is a sugar found in milk and other dairy products. People suffering from Lactose Intolerance can experience symptoms such as bloating, gas, cramps, indigestion and diarrhea. This vastly differs from the symptoms experienced by those suffering from allergies which can be quite severe. These symptoms can include hives, vomiting, swelling, itching or tingling sensations, wheezing, coughing and shortness of breath.
Luckily, you never have to fear experiencing any of these symptoms at Hudson’s. We make ice-cream for all which includes our allergy-friendly ice-cream selection.
